Places Unearthed

The Art of Scott Meyers

I have an overwhelming fascination with handmade/manmade objects and their functions. The importance of an object constructed by man, and how these creations/objects are able to ignite further development and push us into constant movement for the betterment of humanity. There is a complex and beautiful relationship between man and the world that he's been given to understand and mold.

I aim to explore these objects and creations, especially our cities, our habitats and their products/byproducts, in the hope to gain an understanding of the role that the individual plays in the scheme of things.

"Primarily the works are produced on paper, wood and other found materials that have come across my path at one point or another. Surfaces that have had their own history excite me. I'm a collector, a trans-dimensional collagist. I'm also a lucky guy, since the world is full of so much junk.
