Arc du Carousel, Tuileries

When I visited Paris in the Winter of 2001, I took two cameras for the trip: one was an ordinary, but reliable, 35mm camera; and the other was my clunky Holga toy camera wrapped up in bright blue electrical tape to cover any light leaks. (Luckily, I went through customs without officials mistaking it for plastic explosives.)

As to be expected with any Holga camera, many of the images came out imperfect, and some were accidentally superimposed, which you will soon see. However, these Holga images most accurately depicted the stark coldness of Paris during that winter, as well as the emotions that prevailed upon me during my first visit to that famed city outside of my dreams.

This exhibit is a small selection of my favorites. I hope you enjoy them. --Rina.
